Image for Great Zionist Ideas: <br/> The Prism of Hebrew Poetry

From its beginning, the Zionist movement included rich literary and poetic works. In this seminar course, we will read some of the masterpieces of modern Hebrew poetry and, through them, learn about important periods and events in the history of Zionism. We will explore the lives and worlds of the writers who composed these marvelous, challenging, and beautiful poems, and we will delve into the power and significance of their ideas. We will study Yehuda Leib Gordon, Shaul Tchernichovsky, Hayyim Nahman Bialik, Ze’ev Jabotinsky, and Natan Alterman.
