Image for Left, Right, and Center: </br> Introduction to American Politics

This course will serve as an introduction to American political thought and the differences between the left, right, and center on key policy questions facing the United States. Together, we will read articles, essays, and other texts to analyze issues such as the role of government, intervention in foreign policy, school choice, free speech and tech censorship, and defunding the police. Through discussion and debate, we will explore such questions as: Why do people have different worldviews and perspectives concerning these policies? What are they? How have the views from those on different sides of the political spectrum changed over the course of our lifetimes, and why? And what does this teach us about American political thought?
