When, in 1981, John Hinckley Jr. attempted to assassinate President Ronald Reagan, the Lubavitcher Rebbe, Rabbi Menachem Mendel Schneerson, argued that a lack of moral instruction in American schools was a contributing factor to this violence. In this seminar, we will explore the Rebbe’s vision for American education and his belief in Jewish engagement with the broader world.
