The Tikvah Project on Jewish Thought at Princeton University supports teaching, research, and publication on Jewish thought. The Project’s main goal is to integrate Jewish thought fully into the study of the humanities. This goal is based on the view that the Jewish tradition has an important contribution to make to the humanities as a whole—in politics, history, religion, philosophy—and that any educated person, Jewish and non-Jewish, ought to widen his/her academic perspective to include topics of Jewish thought and civilization.
By bringing visiting fellows, who teach courses and do their own research, the project aims to create a dynamic community of teachers and scholars at Princeton University. Undergraduate and graduate students, faculty and visiting fellows, are involved with all aspects of the Tikvah Project on Jewish Thought, from participation in courses and related events to collaborative and independent research on a number of the Project’s themes.
