Jews, Power, and Anti-Semitism

This curriculum takes a deep look at the history and current state of antisemitism in order to better understand and combat anti-Jewish hate as it manifests in our world today. With an analysis of positive and negative perceptions of Jewish power in society, the contexts in which antisemitism arose throughout history, and the development of strategies to combat antisemitism, this course seeks to not only educate its participants in the realities of antisemitism but prepare them to effectively combat it in all forms. Through a length and meticulously crafted study of the works of Ruth Wisse and Dara Horn, this syllabus hopes to train students to effectively stand up for and defend the Jewish people and Jewish civilization on their campus and beyond.

Adapted from a course taught by Tikvah’s George Washington University chapter in the spring of 2023.
